Booking a property inspection has barely changed in twenty years: call three companies, wait for callbacks, mail a check, chase the report — while the buyer's inspection contingency clock is running.
FastInspector is a marketplace that replaces that loop. An agent books an inspection in a six-step wizard and pays up front. An inspection company sees the request in a live queue, accepts it, and dispatches one of its inspectors. The inspector works on the property and delivers the report — with photos, grouped by severity — from the same app. The agent see it the moment it lands. The agent can then choose to share it with the buyer.
These guides walk through each of those jobs. Start with the one for your role; the payment guide at the end is for everyone who wonders where the money is at any given moment.
The three roles
| Role | Who | What they do here |
|---|---|---|
| Agent | A real-estate agent (or anyone arranging an inspection for a buyer) | Books, pays, signs the pre-inspection agreement, follows the appointment, shares the report with the buyer, builds a repair request, rates the company |
| Company | An inspection business — its owner or office | Sets up the profile, service areas, inspection types and prices, credentials and payout account; accepts or declines requests; assigns inspectors |
| Inspector | A person who carries out inspections for a company | Sees their appointments, marks appoitment status en-route when they are on their way to work on the job, and completed when they are done with the job. They also deliver the report after completion. |
You sign up as one of the three. A company adds its inspectors by invitation, so an inspector's account is tied to the company that invited them.
Where it runs
Everything in these guides works the same in three places:
- The mobile app — iOS and Android. Inspectors in the field will live here.
- The web app at app.fastinspector.com — the same app in a browser. On a laptop the tab bar becomes a side rail and lists sit beside their details.
- This website — marketing, these guides, and the buyer's share view.
One sign-in covers all of it. The guides say "tap" throughout; on the web, read "click".
Getting an account
- Open the app (or the web app) and choose Sign up.
- Sign up with an email and password, or with Google or Microsoft.
- Choose your role: Agent or Company. (Inspectors do not choose — they accept an invitation from their company, which sets the role.)
- Read the short introduction. A company is then taken straight to company setup; an agent lands on their bookings.
The role is fixed once chosen. If you picked the wrong one, contact us rather than creating a second account with the same email.
