From accepted to report: following a booking

Signing the agreement, tracking the appointment, reading the report, sharing it with the buyer, and building a repair request.

Once you have paid, the booking detail is where everything happens. Open any booking from Bookings; each appointment on it is a card with its status, the company, the schedule, the price, and the actions available right now.

The status line

An appointment moves through these states, and the card's badge follows:

StatusMeaning
Pending paymentBooked, not yet paid
WaitingPaid; the company has not answered yet
AcceptedThe company took the job
DeclinedThe company passed — see below
AssignedAn inspector is on it
En routeThe inspector is on the way (day of)
CompletedThe inspection was carried out; the report is due within 48 hours
Report deliveredThe report is in

Every change reaches you as a notification and in the in-app inbox (the bell).

Sign the pre-inspection agreement

After the company accepts, the card shows Sign pre-inspection agreement. This is the company's own agreement — the scope of the inspection, its limits, what a report is and is not — and it is between you and the company, not with FastInspector. Read it; tap Sign agreement. On the phone the app may ask for Face ID or your fingerprint to confirm it is you. We record your name, the time and the agreement's version.

Nothing moves until this is signed. The company cannot assign an inspector to an unsigned appointment. If the agreement is a problem, message the company from the card before signing.

If the company declines

The card shows Choose another company. Pick from the companies that cover the property — the same list as step 4 of the wizard — and the request goes to them instead. Your payment carries across; nothing is charged again.

Reschedule or cancel

Reschedule moves the date and time. It takes effect immediately and the company is notified — acceptance is not reset — and it is available until the inspector is en route. Cancel inspection is available any time before the inspector marks the appointment completed; cancelling does not refund by itself — see cancellation in the payment guide.

Message the company

Message about this inspection opens a thread on the appointment. The company sees it in its queue and is notified; it is the place for access instructions, a gate code, or "the seller will be present".

The day of

The inspector marks en route when leaving and completed when done. Both reach you instantly. Completed starts the 48-hour report clock.

The report

View report opens it: findings grouped by severity — safety hazard, major, moderate, minor, info — each with a description and photos, plus a PDF if the company attached one. A delivered report is a record: it cannot be edited afterwards.

Share it with the buyer

The Buyer access section on the booking creates a link the buyer can open without an account — a read-only view of the appointment status and the report. Enter the buyer's name and email (or use the ones from the wizard) and Share with buyer: the link is emailed the first time, and you can copy it from the card any time after. Links expire on the date shown and are rate-limited against abuse. Re-issue share link creates a fresh one — the previous stays valid until it expires — and if a link needs to die sooner than that, contact us and we will revoke it. Do not post a link anywhere public.

Build a repair request

Repair request turns findings into a list you can hand to the listing side. Tick the findings you want addressed and choose an outcome for each — repair, credit or replacement — and add custom items for anything the report did not cover. The result is a clean document; FastInspector is not a party to what the two sides then negotiate.

Share the repair items with the seller's agent

Once at least one item is marked repair, a Seller's agent section appears on the booking. Enter the listing agent's name and email and Share repair items: they get a no-account link showing only the items you marked repair — the inspector's title, notes and photos for each — and nothing else. Not the full report, not the status timeline, not your credit or replacement asks, not the buyer's details. It works like the buyer link: emailed the first time, copyable afterwards, expiring, and Re-issue creates a fresh one. Items you mark repair later show up on the same link; the seller's agent sees the current list each time they open it.

Rate the company

After delivery, the card offers a 1–5 star rating. It is shown with the company's profile to other agents choosing a company. Make it about the appointment.

Payments tab

Payments lists every charge on your account — what was paid, for which appointment, and its status, including refunded if it came back. When money moves and why is the payment guide.
